Mottisfont Abbey’s history shows, quite simply, that it is a perfect place for meetings and fine dining. It has been said that Saxon freemen may have held their village moots, or meetings on this site before the Priory was built in 1201 by William Briwere, trusted advisor to Richard the Lionheart. The monks started offering hospitality around 800 years ago to visiting pilgrims. Then, in the last century, it became something of a retreat for the London social circle, which included George Bernard Shaw. Today you can continue this fine tradition of socialising in a fabulous setting, redolent with history and surrounded by beautiful gardens and parkland.
Mottisfont Abbey has a wide choice of distinctive rooms offering great flexibility. It is particularly ideal for entertaining guests for dinner in the Dining Room, intimate meetings in The Yellow Room or a drinks reception in the Long Gallery.
The perfectly manicured lawns, adjacent to the River Test, provide a perfect location for drinks receptions, and the North Lawn and Parkland can host wedding receptions or corporate events for up to 500 in a marquee.

Menus and Prices: |
Catering prices vary depending on the menu chosen:- Informal Finger Buffets start from around £14.00 pp inc VAT. Three course seated meals start from around £33.50 pp inc VAT (inclusive of an 8% payable commission to the National Trust).
Our prices are fully inclusive of staff, linen and crockery requirements. We also include the services of one of our experienced catering managers who will be able to help with the smooth running of your reception, leaving you and your guests to enjoy the occasion.

Wine and Bar: |
We are able to take care of your liquor and bar requirements. Please contact us to see our current wine list or you may like to consider one of our drinks packages. Again please contact us for the latest information. Alternatively you may like to source your wine etc and if you decide on this option we can advise on quantities and provide glasses and ice etc. For this there is a glass service charge. If you decide you would like to have a cash or account bar we can provide stock and experienced bar staff to operate this for you.
