Wise Catering Gears Up For the Southampton Boatshow 01-Sep-2010
Southampton based specialist caterers and bar management firm Wise Group is gearing up for next weeks PSP Southampton Boat Show, having won the contract to include public catering at the 10 day event from national giant Compass Group.
This year through its Premier Food Courts brand, it will be providing all of the public catering facilities such as oriental, pizza, fish and chip and burger outlets at the show. Wise Catering, the group’s premier brand will be serving 1,500 covers per day across a range of restaurants that includes the Mariner Restaurant, the Bistro and Bar and the Piper Hiedsieck Champagne and Seafood Bar. A new look Platinum lounge aimed at the corporate market will also host over 200 covers per day.
As exclusive cater to the world famous show the group has employed an additional 200 staff from across the region. It will now have over 350 staff ranging from chefs, waiters, bar staff and fork lift truck drivers directly employed. Unlike other catering organisations the staff are employed and trained by the Wise Group to ensure that a consistent and high quality service is delivered.
With the upturn in corporate hospitality, the group’s Events Bar Management brand has increased orders for Champagne by 10%. It anticipates selling staggering 4,000 bottles of Champagne together with 20,000 pints of Guinness and over 5,000 glasses of Pims.
Chris Treacher, Managing Director, commented: “The Group has continued to witness an increase in demand in the corporate market and this year and we anticipate an uplift of around 10% for the show. Through the combination of Wise Catering and Premier Food Courts we expect to serve the vast majority of the 110,000 visitors that are expected to attend the PSP Southampton Boat Show.”
Wise Catering, Events Bar Management and Premier Food Courts are all part of the Wise Group which operates from purpose built premises in Woolston on the banks of the River Itchen. It also caters for weddings, private and public events and has a luxury yacht charter division.
