Wise Catering has celebrated its 30th birthday with an exclusive charity dinner at the Pavillion, Romsey.More than 100 people attended the glittering event, including the new Mayor of Southampton, Terry Matthews, on his first public engagement since his appointment.
A charity auction helped to raise £2,500 for the Piam Brown Children’s Cancer Ward at Southampton General Hospital. Representing the charity, Jane Carley, Fundraising Executive at Wessex Cancer Trust, said: “The generosity and support of organisations such as Wise Catering means so much to the Charity and the lives of the children it supports.”
Roger Gilley, Founder of Wise Catering, paid tribute to the Wise team, which over the past three decades, has helped to make the company one of the most successful and well respected catering firms in the south. Roger said: “Wise Catering has come a long way from the early days when the business was operated out of the back of a caravan at the Southampton Boat Show! When you look at what the business has achieved over the last 30 years, it is truly remarkable and testament to the hard work of a fantastic team of dedicated and talented staff.”
Managing Director of Wise Catering, Chris Treacher, said: “As a company, we can all look back on the last 30 years with a great sense of pride and achievement. As the preferred caterers for the Southampton Boat Show, Newbury racecourse, and Twickenham Stadium, to name but a few, it is fair to say we have developed a reputation as one of, if not the premier independent catering firm in the country. I very much look forward to the next 30 years and continuing to build on the great success we achieved so far.”
Wise Catering and its subsidiary Events Bar Management operate from purpose built premises in Woolston on the banks of the River Itchen. It also caters for weddings, private and public events such as the Wimbledon tennis championships and match day hospitality at Twickenham.
