Southampton based Wise Catering; specialist caterers for private and public events are serving up ace corporate hospitality throughout the Wimbledon 2010 championship held at the world famous All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. The Company has witnessed a two-fold increase in hospitality bookings for the event and has seen a similar trend emerging across the corporate hospitality sector.
During the championship fortnight a staggering amount of food and drink is provided including 100,000 pints of beer, 150,000 glasses of Pims, 17,000 bottles of champagne, 28,000 kilos of English strawberries and 7,000 litres of diary cream. Over 125,000 lunches are also served across a range of catering outlets by almost 1,700 staff.
Commenting, Managing Director, Chris Treacher said: “We are pleased to see a real upsurge in corporate hospitality this year. We have more than double the numbers for this year’s tournament to over 1,200 bookings. Wimbledon is the largest single annual sporting catering operation in Europe and Wise Catering has been involved with the event for the last 20 year.”
The Wimbledon Championship forms part of Wise Catering’s sporting portfolio which includes the PSP Southampton Boat show, the Rosebowl, Newbury race course and Twickenham.”
